Druidry Order of the Rose for the solitary practitioner

Druidry Order of the Rose (DOR) is intended to connect people with the same awareness: wisdom and insight. We believe that understanding of the Druid way is priceless, and therefore, joining our Mother Grove is and always will be free. As long as one's intentions are positive, it does not matter which age, gender, nationality or religion one has to enter the Grove.  We are not any kind of cult, but a growing circle of people with similar and yet different beliefs, uniting us all together under the Druids path.

In short, the Druidry Order of the Rose (DOR) was formed as a "Free Online Druidry Community for those who seek the Druid Path". The Druidry Order of the Rose (DOR) is a modern Druidry order of solitary practitioners who wish to belong to a sovereign group for community, networking, and if needed training.  The Druid path and the wisdom of Druidry doesn’t just belong to the past, it can also be our present and our future. Druidism constantly grows within the world, developing into something fresh, listening to the voice of Nature and the people. A Druid order that continuously grows toward the new, remains "new" and never becomes obsolete or outdated or stuck in time. Instead, the Druidry Order of the Rose (DOR) persists to be a developed, dynamically, living, thriving and evolving Druid path, adapting the wisdom of the timeless Druids into the world of today.
The Druidry Order of the Rose (DOR) is not specifically mesopagan, neopagan, or bound to any particular religion (remember religion is of man; Spirituality is of the Divine). We welcome individuals from everywhere in the world who are seeking spiritual growth or interest in the Druid Path, regardless of age, gender, skin colour, language or religion. We believe that everyone deserves the chance in life to learn, to mature and to converse.

WHO ARE WE?
The Druidry Order of the Rose (DOR) is a non-government recognized community, primarily operating on the internet through our website but it also conducts meetings as well as establishing local groves under its Mother Grove. The Druidry Order of the Rose (DOR) HeadQuarters is established in the United States (New Hampshire), but has people cooperating in many aspects of it (moderating, monitoring, mentoring, guiding, ...) from other parts of the world. The people in our community can be male or female, young or old. We make no restrictions on this or the location where individuals reside. The intent of our order is to be a focus for people who show interest in the Druid path we present- mainly solitaire practitioners, and those who take this calling take serious. You can be Celtic, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Wiccan, Buddhist or atheist; it makes no difference as long as you are willing to have an open mind.

WHAT DO WE DO?
Our Grove has three main goals: to learn and educate, to nurture, to exchange.
We provide mentorship, educational seminars, and the opportunity for solitaire practitioners of Druidry …a community; we also provide solitary practitioners the opportunity to start their own grove under the charter of the Mother Grove of Druidry Order of the Rose (DOR).

Mission Statement
In the ancient Celtic Age, it was straightforward to find a Druid who could train and teach you, today it is not that simple. Today exist a number of modern-Druid organisations throughout Europe, North America and Australia, but not everybody has the ability to join one of these, for reasons such as distance or the religious convictions of their relations. It is often the curious individual who wants to explore his or her own inner path, who is being held back by their family or close friends-for many people in this world still think Druids are worshippers of the Devil who sacrifice humans and animals (which is not our order or the order of any current Druidry order). Options for these individuals would be books, or study packages that some Druid organisations offer with membership by mail (or online), but then there occurs the problem of money. Not everyone has the capital to pay for memberships, courses and workshops, or tons of books. At the Druidry Order of the Rose (DOR), we asked ourselves the question, “is it right that those who don't have the means, for whatever the reasons, should be denied a chance to learn? Isn't true wisdom priceless?”

The concept of the Druidry Order of the Rose (DOR).was founded by Maudib (United States, NH) in 2010, and was fully established in August 2011. The fundamental ideas on which is based this organisation, is to offer for people through the means of internet, seminars, and fellow groves with three main goals: to learn, to grow, to exchange.

The Druidry Order of the Rose (DOR) is, in truth, a free online community for people of all ages young and old, for both men and women, no matter where in the world you live. Members of course are free to join other Druid organisations as well, and both "newbies" as inexperienced people in Druidry are welcomed. The Druidry Order of the Rose (DOR) cannot be called either a mesopagan nor neopagan organisation, for people of all paths are welcome, and encouraged to follow their own path of Druidry. The highest priority within our grove, is to honour the free will of the individual, as supported by our Mother Grove.

The Druid Tradition is ancient, and symbolizes one of the origins of the Western Spiritual Tradition. But even though it is ancient, it is as relevant and alive today as it ever has been. All spiritualities grow and change - and Druidism, or Druidry as it is also known, has changed too - and now it is experiencing a Renaissance.

Druidism, or Druidry as it is often called, is for some a spiritual path, for others a religion, and for others a cultural activity.

As a spiritual way or philosophy, modern Druidry began to develop about three hundred years ago during a period known as the ‘Druid Revival’. It was inspired by the accounts of ancient Druids, and drew on the work of historical researchers, folklorists and early literature. In this way Druidry’s heritage stretches far back into the past.

What does it mean to be a Druid today?                                                                               Above all else, Druidry means following a spiritual path rooted in the green Mother Earth. It means taking part in a living Western spiritual tradition drawn from many sources, including surviving legacies from Celtic wisdom teachings, but also embracing the contributions from many peoples and times. It means learning from archaic traditions, from three centuries of modern Druid scholarship and before, and from the always changing lessons of the living Earth itself. It means embracing an experiential approach to religious and spiritual questions as one that abandons rigid belief systems in favor of inner development and individual contact with the realms of nature and spirit. It means adopting many non-Celtic approaches that are in line with the concepts of Druidry, in turn promoting Druidry in a developing and emerging change.
